Founded in 1985, Johnson Outdoors, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of outdoor recreation products worldwide.

- Marine Electronics - provides battery-powered electric motors used on fishing boats and other boats for quiet trolling power or primary propulsion; underwater sonar and GPS technology equipment; and downriggering fishing equipment through outdoor specialty store chains, retail store chains, marine distributors, international distributors, and original equipment manufacturers.
- Outdoor Equipment - military, commercial, and consumer tents; sleeping bags and backpacks; field compasses and digital instruments; and performance measurement instruments through independent sales representatives, primarily to sporting goods stores, catalog and mail order houses, and camping and backpacking specialty stores.
- Watercraft - manufactures and markets kayaks, canoes, paddles, oars, specialty watercraft, personal flotation devices, and small thermoformed recreational boats. Products are primarily sold to specialty stores and marine dealers, sporting goods stores, and catalog and mail order houses, resort and rental outlets, and retail chains.
- Diving segment manufactures and markets underwater diving and snorkeling equipment, including regulators, stabilizing jackets, dive computers and gauges, wetsuits, masks, fins, snorkels, and accessories for technical and recreational divers. Sales are through selected distribution to independent specialty dive stores.
